Stinger

INTRODUCTION

1-HOUR TELEVISION DRAMA

“You want savagery? You just wrote their recruitment video. And, you made me the enemy.”

Stinger is a one-hour dramatic television series set in present day America, Dearborn, Michigan to be exact. It follows a disillusioned and retired Navy SEAL struggling to survive against a backdrop of multiculturalism, hidden aggression, and deceptive institutions.

This is not just a story about a terrorist threat on American soil, but a deeper look at the past decisions that create and fuel the hate, and how it is easily used as cover for more devious geo-political plans.

THE CONCEPT AND WORLD

Stinger unfolds in a version of America that feels terrifyingly real — where domestic terror doesn’t come from foreign invaders, but from within the very systems built to protect. Set in Dearborn, Michigan, a city steeped in military pride, immigrant identity, and post-9/11 tension, the series explores what happens when patriotic service is weaponized and loyalty is exploited. It’s a world of backdoor deals and bureaucratic betrayal, where the line between guardian and threat is redrawn every day. From quiet school hallways to federal briefing rooms, from suburban parks to underground weapons labs, Stinger is grounded in the recognizable: a fractured country, high-stakes politics, and a rising generation caught in the middle. At its heart is one man, discarded by the system, who must uncover a conspiracy that others are too compromised — or too afraid — to face.

TONE AND INFLUENCE

Stinger blends the political paranoia of Homeland, the father-daughter moral core of The Last of Us, and the propulsive tension of 24. Gritty, grounded, and emotionally resonant, it explores what happens when patriotism becomes weaponized — and heroes are discarded by the country they fought to protect

THEME

At its core, Stinger is about betrayal and redemption — not just of a man, but of a nation’s ideals. It asks: What happens to those who gave everything for a country that quietly moved on without them? Through the eyes of John Stinger, we explore the deep cost of patriotic service in a time when heroism has been hollowed out by politics and profit. His journey is one of resurrection — from discarded veteran to the last line of defense — as he reclaims his purpose by defending the very people who no longer believe in him.

Thematically, the series grapples with:

  • Fatherhood as protection vs. control
  • Institutional rot and the danger of blind allegiance
  • Radicalization — both foreign and domestic — as a symptom of loss and manipulation
  • Moral clarity in a world designed to blur it

It also reflects the anxiety of a modern America where school safety, political extremism, and government trust are constantly in question — and where the next great threat may not come from beyond our borders, but from the decisions made behind closed doors.

MAIN CHARACTERS

JOHN STINGER – A stoic, battle-worn ex-Navy SEAL haunted by the ghosts of a mission in Iraq. Protective, principled, and deeply intuitive, John is a relic of honor in a world that has moved on from it.

HARRY STINGER – John’s teenage son. Quiet, smart, and loyal. As the season progresses, Harry transitions from protected child to vital ally in the fight against terror.

JANA STINGER – John’s ex-wife, a stay-at-home mom and co-parent trying to shield their son from John’s instability.

ANGELA RODRIGUEZ – A former CIA officer now embedded in the Secret Service. Disillusioned by decades of sacrifice and betrayal, Angela turns against the system and orchestrates a false-flag attack to collapse faith in government.

VAGHID – A former Iraqi civilian turned domestic extremist. Once a victim of U.S. foreign policy, now a calculated radicalizer. He radicalized his remaining son, Tarek, to avenge the death of his first born son, Ali.

TAREK – Vaghid’s teenage son. Intelligent and conflicted. Raised on resentment and taught to serve a cause he doesn’t fully understand.

IVAN – A Russian operative pulling strings in the background. He manipulates both Angela and Vaghid, but answers to no one. His purpose is chaos. His loyalty is to disruption.

Season 2 Teaser

Following his success in foiling the terror plot and assassination attempt, John is tasked by the CIA and FBI to aid them in solving the most serious threats against the nation. His first assignment: find out who Angela was working with and capture them to face charges.

WHY NOW?

In an era defined by distrust, disinformation, and the erosion of once-sacred institutions, Stinger speaks directly to a nation asking itself what — and whom — it still believes in. With school shootings, political extremism, and government conspiracies dominating headlines, audiences are hungry for stories that don't just reflect these fears — but interrogate them with nuance, emotion, and action.

Stinger taps into the cultural anxiety of today’s America:

  • Where patriotism is contested
  • Where veterans are too often forgotten
  • Where the line between protector and predator blurs with every new revelation

It channels that tension through the eyes of a single man — discarded by the system he served — who must stop a threat built from everything he once believed in. For viewers raised on 24, shaken by The Americans, and drawn to The Night Agent, Stinger offers the next evolution: a domestic thriller where the home front is the war zone, and the enemy is wearing a badge.

This isn’t speculative fiction. This is the America outside your window.
